About us

The Ampfab team are very proud to put into practice the Ampfab ethos and their many years experience of designing, manufacturing and installing a wide range of Art Gallery and Museum storage equipment including but certainly not limited to art handling trolleys and trucks, art and artefact storage systems both mobile and static.

Adam and Phil

Ampfab works with art galleries, museums, private collectors, auction houses, architects, specifiers and other clients across the UK and internationally. We design, manufacture and install premium British-made bespoke storage and picture racking systems.

In London, we have worked with the Tower of London, Daniel Katz Gallery, Brancoli Grimaldi, Blain Southern and Christie’s Auction House.

Elsewhere in England, we have worked with the Bolton Museum, the Bowes Museum in County Durham, the Beaney in Canterbury, Harper College in Huddersfield, the Victoria Gallery & Museum in Liverpool, Manchester Museum, Manchester Art Gallery, the Hatton Gallery in Newcastle Upon Tyne and the Atkinson Gallery in Southport and The Lady Lever Art Gallery & Museum on Wirral.

In Scotland, we have worked with the Huntarian Museum in Glasgow, Mintlaw Heritage Stores in Peterhead, Arbuthnot Gallery in Aberdeenshire and the V&A Dundee.

In Wales, our work can be seen at Storiel Art Gallery in Gwynedd.

In Northern Ireland, we have worked with the Stormont Estate near Belfast and in the Republic of Ireland we’ve worked with a private collector in Dublin.

Overseas, our work includes a private artist’s studio in France, storage for a corporate art collection in Hong Kong and consultancy services for an architects practice in Australia. See our Architects & Specifiers and Private Collectors pages for more information.

Our Process

It seems to me that business is far more complicated than it used to be, endless choices and options, everyone claiming to be the best. I don’t want all these choices; what I want is the best possible option for me at a price that offers me value and meets my needs.

I suppose we would have to call ourselves old fashioned in our outlook, but it is this ethos that forms the culture and modus operandi of Ampfab.

We combine the best of traditional craftsmanship with the latest developments in design, manufacturing and materials.

We really enjoy the variety of our projects – working with galleries, museums, sale rooms, private clients and professions. Working across the disciplines of art, design, manufacturing and architecture is just fantastic.
